The Shimizu Chip
Sensor is a small device with all the features of bigger
counterparts. The Chip Sensor, packaged with Shimizu's
fingerprint BioGuard software, offers a small footprint and can
thus serve as a detachable key (USB interface) that can be pulled
out and slipped into a shirt pocket. As an end product, the
Chip Sensor is ready for end-use, complete with the BioGuard
application software and OS drivers.
As an example of implementing fingerprint authentication, the
small form factor of the silicon wafer affords a ready option for
System Integrators and Product Developers to incorporate
fingerprint identification into small devices. The wafer
design is suitable for products such as mobile cellular
phones, notebook computers, PDA's, "Gameboy" style electronic
games and the like. Shimizu’s technology stands out among finger imaging solutions
because it is based on the reliability and accuracy of
minutia-based matching.
