SUBJECT:
How to upgrade 22Mbps Wireless AP for 4X mode
support?
QUESTION:
How to upgrade the firmware of my 22Mbps Wireless AP
for 4X mode support?
ANSWER:
22Mbps Wireless AP will support 4X mode, a
proprietary method of gaining increased throughput,
after upgrading the latest firmware, version 1.12 or
later.
Please use the following steps to upgrade your 22Mbps
Wireless AP’s firmware for 4X mode support:
Step 1. Open AP Utility software to
search your 22Mbps Wireless AP. After finding the AP
out, click OK button to configure.

Step 2. Click Upgrade Firmware from
the tool bar or Manage menu. Assign the file path of new
firmware (.dwn) and click Upgrade
button.

Step 3. After finishing firmware upgrade, 22Mbps
Wireless AP will restart automatically.
Notice: After upgrading AP’s firmware
to support 4X mode, 22Mbps Wireless AP will support
Web-based management; then it CANNOT be managed by the
AP Utility software any more. So, please click OK
button to ignore the following error message after your
AP restarting:

Step 4. Close AP Utility software.
Step 5. Return your 22Mbps Wireless AP to
factory-default settings by holding down the reset
button on the rear of the AP.
When upgrading 22Mbps Wireless AP’s firmware, 4X mode
is disabled by default, and you need to enable 4X mode
manually.
Upgraded 22Mbps Wireless AP offers a Web-based
interface that allows all configuration and management
functions to be carried out through almost any
up-to-date World Wide Web (WWW) browser. The browser
must support JavaScript, and the AP must be
pre-configured with valid and known IP settings. Please
refer to FAQ, How
to manage 22Mbps Wireless AP that supports 4X mode, for
details.
